While this element is definitely capable of modelling slabs at ambient conditions, it lacked the nonlinearity needed for simulating large deformations in floor slabs in fire.

Shells, Beams, and Solids are the three primary element kinds. As a general guideline, thin sections with a single thickness ought to be built as Shell Elements, long, slender portions with a single profile ought to be setup as Beam Elements, and all other parts ought to be constructed as Solid Elements.
