Internal forces for shell element ShellMITC4

Post by mbazan »

I can obtain nodal forces from shell element ShellMITC4 (obviously each node has six degrees of freedom and I get six forces per node). Are there any other recorders available from which I could directly obtain internal forces in the shell element?
If not, are there other recorders available that can be used along with the nodal forces to obtain the internal forces?

try using "stresses" as the option to get forces at each gauss point. you will get an o/p vector of 32 quantities per element. use the -xml option instead of -file to see what they are and for what gauss point.
