Soil Domains Connected Vertically

I am working on Wall - Backfill problems.

Please tell me how to connect two different soil domains of pdmy consitutive model vertically, as there is a big problem of rigid body motion here.
I mean to say that what kind of connecting element should I be using to connect the different soil domains vertically.

Please help me. Your kind help will be appreciated a lot.
