base shear in a braced frame

Post by saharnaz »

hi everybody
i'm doing time history analysis for a 2D RC moment frame with and without BRB. for calculating base shear in moment frame i've used element recorder and extract forces in columns in global coordinate then i added fxs together, but when i have buckling restrained knee braces in structure i do'nt know how do this?

base shear is base shear .. sum of lateral element global force at element ends which are base nodes .. you can also simply use a node recorder and ask for the reaction at the base nodes
