zeroLength element

Post by smailk »

Dear All,

How could we force a zeroLength element to move in just one direction (for example x direction) ?

Kind regards.

Do you mean a X directional element in a 2D/3D model or 1D model?

For 2D you could do something like:
element zeroLength $ele $iNode $jNode -mat $matX -dir 1; # Assuming direction 1 is global X
equalDOF $iNode $jNode 2 3; # Restrains the dY and rZ dofs between the nodes
