Modeling cables subjected to wind

Post by ymdarestani »

I want to model cables subjected to wind. Wind force acting on a cable is a function of relative velocity between wind velocity and velocity of the structure. So at each time step for applying wind force I need the cable velocity of the previous step. Does anyone know how should I obtain wind velocity at each step and use it for the wind force for the next step?

you can only obtain the velocity at the nodes .. this can be obtained using the nodeVel commands
