new command

Post by jackjo »

Hi everybody
I have old version of opensees, version 0.3.1 (beta) 2001 , do new command like " test RelativeNormDispIncr 1.0e-4 10 " that don't exist in command table of old versions work in these versions ?
I tried it and opensees worked without any error, but this command ( RelativeNormDispIncr) is not blue while another test command like NormDispIncr is blue, is new test commands should be blue in old versions and if not, are results of analysis true with applied test command (test RelativeNormDispIncr) ?

Hi jackjo,

If you are using Tcl Editor plus the latest version of OpenSees, new commands will work perfectly, although they won't be colored since Tcl Editor is way out of date. But if you use previous versions of OpenSees, I'm not sure if new commands work correctly in that version. Anyway, why just not downloading the last version of OpenSees for free?!
