For some kinds of elements such as "Force-Based Beam-Column Element" and "Beam With Hinges Element", there is such item "<-iter $maxIters $tol>" in the element commands.
And the explanations in wiki are as following (for beam with hinges element):
$maxIters
maximum number of iterations to undertake to satisfy element compatibility (optional, default=1)
$tol
tolerance for satisfaction of element compatibility (optional, default=10-16)
But I still can't understand the meaning well.
And I also wonder why some kinds of elements have this item but some don't.
Besides, why the default value of tolerance are different for different kinds of elements? What effects this value?
I would appreciate it if anyone could give some more explanations.
What does the tolerance at element level mean?
