Prestressed concrete

Post by jpablo »

Hi, has anyone modeled prestressed concrete columns in OPENSEES? Does anyone know if there is a list with the functions/Libraries available in OPENSEES? I checked the manual, but it doesn't say anything about prestressed concrete, I just started using OPENSEES, I don't know where to start looking for the function I need, I want to do a history time analysis for a 1DOF system (prestressed column subjected to a ground motion, considering stiffness degradation). Is there any kind of index or list where I can find out if what I want to do is even possible? Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

opensees has capabilities to do all that you want. However it has a steep learning curve, so you feel lost for a while before you grasp how to use it. I suggested spending significant time in getting all the simple examples working then start thinking about doing your own analysis.
