stiffness degradation, prestressed concrete

Post by jpablo »

Hi, Is it possible for OPENSEES to calculate displacement-force, considering stiffness degradation for a prestressed concrete column? (subjected to an accelerogram)

Thanks

There are many material models that capture degredation. And you can easily capture force and deformation as output. So yes it can.

Thank you, I've never used OPENSEES, I'm going to star learning, just wasn't sure about it on prestressed concrete (I mean about whether it had prestressed concrete models available or not), but thanks, I better start reading.

Yea there is a steep learning curve at the start and it can get frustrating but just battle through it because once you grasp the program you can do so much with it
