Reverse-Cyclic Pushover with variable gravitational load

Post by Halim »

Hello,
I try to conduct reverse-cyclic pushover analysis of a cantilever column. The gravity loads for left-to-right and right-to-left directions are different.
Can anyone tell me whether reverse-cyclic analysis with this kind of gravity loading is doable with OpenSEES? If yes, could you help me how to script?
your help is highly appreciated.

See the details for more info:

Target displacement to left-to-right: 0.05, 0.1, 0.5mm
Gravity load for these cycles: 500kN
Target displacement for right-to left: -0.05, -0.1, -0.5mm
Gravity load for these cycles: 2000kN

Define a new load pattern with the new value of gravity load *after* you complete the left-to-right push
