Hinge with modified IMK deterioration model

Post by prichards »

I can't get models that use the IMK deterioration model to run past the point where deterioration would begin.
Wiki for the Bilin Material says "NOTE: before you use this material make sure that you have downloaded the latest OpenSees version."
I have tried running the posted moment frame example that uses the IMK model (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... ment_Frame) with OpenSees version 2.4.1.2 (Tcl version 8.5.12.0) and the analysis fails to converge at time 6.587.

Can someone else try running the posted moment frame example with the current version and see if it works? Any ideas on what the problem might be?

We have modified the example by changing a few dynamic analysis parameters and, from the runs we made, convergence is now attained without trouble.
