large p-delta

Post by Horr »

Hi,
1. I wish to know if "geomTransf PDelta" or "geomTransf Corotational" can consider the "Large P-Delta" effect, or it can consider just "small P-delta" in element.
2. If they can't, which procedure is proposed in general?
3. And At the end, what 's the original reference (which paper or book) for "leaning column" procedure?
Best Regards,
Horr

None of the geometric transformations considers small P-delta. PDelta is actually "Large P-Delta".

Here is a reference for leaning column:
Gupta, A. and Krawinkler, H. (1999). “Seismic demands for performance evaluation of steel moment resisting frame structures.” Report No. 132 (p. 26-28), Stanford University, Stanford, CA.
