r.c. section

Post by michela »

I need to define the steel material for a fiber section in r.c. How do I specify the ultimate strain?

steel02 does not have ultimate strain. you need to use hysteretic material to do that -- which i love.

how may I see stress in the steel and in the conc?

I write:

recorder Element -file Data/StressStrainBar.out -time -ele 1 section 1 fiber $coreY $coreZ stressStrain; # stress bar

recorder Element -file Data/StressStrainConcU.out -time -ele 1 section 1 fiber -$coverY 0 stressStrain; # stress concU

Is it correct?
Do I put the coordinate of the bar?
Where can I see an example of recorder command about stress-strein of a fiber section?

yes, it seems right.
you can also put in -mat $matTag to specify which material you want, in case there is a confusion at that coordinate.

Is it correct?

recorder Element -file Data/StressStrainBar.out -time -ele 1 section 1 fiber $coreY $coreZ -mat $IDreinf stressStrain; # stress bar

i guess you don't put in the -mat:

recorder Element -file $dataDir/SSconcCSecIStory$j$endword.out -time -region $IDColStoryRegion section $secI fiber $Ycoord 0. $IDconcCore stressStrain

I need to study the behavior of the rc section for all the damage state.
I've done a push over analyze but when the unconfined conc failed the analyze stop. I need to study what happened in conc and stell after this moment..Is it possible?

have you used the scripts from the examples manual. they deal with adjusting when you have no convergence.

Why can't I define more than 10 point of integration for force-based element?
When I do it the program stop to run.
I need to define a lot of point because I want to know how long in the plasticity on the base of the column (the lengh of the plastic hinge)

then you might want to use the displacement-based element.

I change my element in displacement-based element, now the model run right and the output are acceptability.
But I have the same problem I can't define more than 10 integration point on my column-element. Why??

I have a second question:
Why when the progam run on my screen appair a lot of string that I suppose reperesent the layer reinfocement? (There aren't warning)
as:
