Response from uniformExcitaion

Post by gilgal77 »

Dear Frank:

You mentioned in the last workshop that the displacement from Multiple Support Excitation is total one but that from uniform Excitation is the relative one.

How about the acceleration from Uniform Excitation?
Is it relative or total acceleration ?

Thank you.

Hope this clears it up. From the manual about node recorders:

For transient analysis, the response output recorded depends on the input:

UniformExcitation Pattern(input acceleration record): Relative (wrt supports) disp, vel and accel

MultipleSupport Pattern (input displacement record): Absolute disp, vel and accel
