Using parallel material

Post by Krisda Piyawat »

 Hi all,
I am having a problem with some uniaxial material material that I defined. Let say, I defined two uniaxial materials (i.e., Mat1 and Mat2). In order to combine Mat1 and Mat2 using a parallel material, I need to give the correct initial stiffness of both Mat1 and Mat2, right? Otherwise the response from using parallel material is not correct.
Is there any way that I can still use a parallel material to combine Mat1 and Mat2 without knowing the correct values of the initial stiffness of Mat1 and Mat2?

Thaks a lot, :D

and why can't you calculate the initial stifnesses .. it's kinda trivial!
