Rocking walls and columns

Post by mpn20 »

Hello,

I am just beginning with Opensees. I can't find any information on how I might model a rocking connection with M-N interaction.

I need something like a multispring or fiber model for the material (to track the change of neutral axis with changes in axial force) combined with some axial springs for the (unbonded) reinforcement.

Ideally I would like to use a simple moment-rotation spring which changes depending on axial load. Otherwise is it possible to use a fiber section combined with axial springs (at a set distance from the section centroid). This could help with the strain incompatibility problem.

Any help would be awesome!
