hystereticmaterial

Post by salman »

Dear Dr. Mazzoni
i modeled a structure with shear wall using nonlinearbeamculomn .i tried to assign hysteretic material to fibersections.
i used stress/strain to define hystereticmaterial.but when i use this material without deterioration parameters, and with that parameters, the results(displacements)are the same.would you please tell me
1- is assigning the hysteretic material to fiber section is true?
2-if its true, why the results are the same?
regards

you can assign the hysteretic material to a fiber section .. i suggest you record the stresses and strains in the material to see if in fact deterioration is or should be occuring. if it should and it is not you can post the material command and stress-strain results.
