Dear Frank,
I have a large model of a nine story building with a mesh of shell elements describing the floors of the building.
The problem occurs when I attempt to run and eigen analysis the program shuts down and a Runtime error message is displayed.
"Program: C:\tcleditor\bin\OpenSees.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
This massage was also displayed in my model of a 3-Story building with similar modeling technique but only when the floor mesh was refined.
This leads me to believe that there may be a limit on the size of the matrices that the eigen solver can process is this in fact the case?
