moving load varying with magnitude and location

Post by JoseLeo »

Hi all,

I have a load history of a dynamic force with distance [i.e., x=distance (m) and y=force (kN)], which was obtained from a truck vehicle-pavement roughness interaction analysis program.

Now I want to apply this dynamic load on a simply supported bridge girder subjected to the load history of a moving tire force along its span (note: the force is changing its magnitude and location with time).

Any ideas how to implement this using OpenSees?

It may also seem that I have to mesh a node spacing equal to the x-intervals of the varying load.

Any suggestions are mostly welcome.
Thanks.

you have to define and remove load patterns.

Prof. Michael Scott in Oregon has been working it.
