Non-Linear Modeling of Slab in OpenSEES

Post by saurabhp26 »

Hi,

I am trying to find out the failure load of a slab panel system. Till now I haven't found anything in the manual or on the forum that can be used to model the inelastic behavior of slabs.

I talked to Frank last week and he suggested using inelastic beam-column elements to model it by discretizing the entire slab into smaller parts and then connecting the nodes with orthogonal beam-column elements.

I haven't tried it yet but if someone has tried something like this or has some other advise on how I can model this, please let me know.

Thanks.
