Linux Configuration Scripts for Larger user base.

Post by sukumar_baishya »

Is it possible to have Linux Configuration scipts instead of Make.def files? (I mean something like Scilab has developed which works in many Linux distributions easily. ) It would help compiling for the new users like me and also we can concentrate on real modelling/analysis issues more comfortably than spending time in compiling. Hope developeres would think of this issue. This would particularly be useful in integrating OpenSees to class room/ computing teaching.

we are looking at alternatives for linux developers .. it will probably be scons .. however, at the cuurent time i have no time to work on it .. the majority of the users work on windows machines with VisualC++ (here we do provide VC projects for them to use).
