Different results in USCD Soil Models with OpenSees 2.10

Post by oscar »

Hi everyone,

I am getting different results in the ""normal stresses "" with OpenSees versions 2.00 and 2.10 for the same input using USCD soil models.
For example, if you run example 3 on the USCD website,

cyclic.ucsd.edu/opensees/Plastic%20Pressure%20Independent%20Wet%20Level%20Dynamic/index.htm

you will get different normal stress results and thus the diagram shown on the USCD webpage ( for example 3 ) will be different. (Actually all the diagrams will be same except the 2nd diagrams of stress-strain output files where the normal stresses are used).
I can get the same results as they are shown on the webpage with version 2.00. Note that in that example, the mass density is defined in material not in element definition as it should be the case for version 2.10.
Any ideas on this issue???

Thanks

the mass density was removed from the element and it not must be supplied by the material.

The example has been updated to the new quad format (mass density removed).

cyclic.ucsd.edu/opensees/Plastic%20Pressure%20Independent%20Wet%20Level%20Dynamic/index.htm

You should be able to get the same answer.
