OpenSEES strange behavior!

Post by Halim »

Hello everyone,
A strange response I am getting from OpenSEES:
In Pushover analysis my model (cantilever column) shows to be stable only and only for some specific values of loads and displacements.
E.g. my model is stable (converges) if the target displacement for pushover is 3.5 mm and would not converge if the target displacement is different, for example, 3.0 mm or 4.0 mm.
Similar phenomenon arises with the axial load exerted on the model.

Could you help what is wrong with this model?

Note: I am in the final stage of my work. Please help me,

Thanks in advance.

you probably have a nonlinear model and you are doing nothing in the script if the analysis fails. see the Analysis section here:
