material is not read
Dear all,
In the program I am running, an error appears indicating that one of my materials does not exist. The material is defined by: uniaxialMaterial Concrete02. The error says that no such material tag (that I assigned) is found and hence it cannot be assigned to the quad element I am trying to make. What may be the reason? How should I solve it?
Best regards,
B. Javidsharifi

Re: material is not read
quad elements use nDMaterials not uniaxialMaterials!

Re: material is not read
Dear professor,
Thanks for the reply. Now I see what my problem was.
So, if I want to model a mat foundation in a plain elasticity (plain strain)(2D) problem whose material is clearly concrete, what should I do? I know that a command shallowfoundationgen exists, but this command models the foundation with the behavior of the soil under it but I am modeling the soil separately. How should I model the foundation then?
My best regards

Re: material is not read
Can I use this command:
section ElasticMembranePlateSection
?
section ElasticMembranePlateSection
?

Re: material is not read
Also, can shell element be used for a 2D problem? So that I use ElasticMembranePlateSection with ShellMITC4 to define the foundation?
Re: material is not read
no. though you could have your 2d model and the shell in a 3d model and with the propoer constraints analyze the merged system.

Dear all ,
I want to medel a 3d sandwich wall panel with different material layers. Also, I am going to model interface element between layers.
I want to use the Standard Brick Element for concrete and Foam layers and materials such as concrete 02 for conctere. but concrete 02 is a uniaxial material and Concrete Damage Model is not work .
Could you Please suggest me a resonable NDmaterials for concrete and Polystyrene foam?
best regards
