FBE Vs. DBE in Response Accuracy

Post by Georgia »

Hi,
As far as I know, we can improve the accuracy of solution for FBE by increasing the NIPs, while in DBE this goal can not be achieved in a same way. And it is recommended that if you want to enrich the response, you should use "mesh refinement" in DBE. Could you tell me plz how can we refine the mesh in opensees? thanks for any help you could provide.

Dear prof Scott,
Thanks for your answer to my questions. of course you are right. I just wanted to know if there is other ways or options in opensees (instead of defining several nodes and using more elements) to perform mesh refinement, and I wonder if you could tell me if there is!
