VULNERABILITY ANALYSIS OF ANCIENT STRUCTURES

Post by wilberk »

Hi, I need to make a vulnerability analysis of an ancient structure (a cathedral). The number of seismic motions that the analysis needs is too much. Additionally, in this research the nonlinear finite elements (shell or solid elements) should be occupied, because the low tension resistance of materials is a key fact. I need to know if Opensees can solve this issue.

Regards.

There are many things OpenSees can (and cannot) do. I think you can use OpenSees to do the analysis you desire, but you need to learn about OpenSees first. Read the website, watch webinars, download workshop materials, etc. then get your hands dirty. No one is going to tell you how to do it!
