Energy Dissipated Vs Time

Post by Marshall »

Hi, Does OpenSees perform an analysis through nonlinear dynamic analysis that lead into gaining the energy dissipated Vs time, by dampers or braces? for example in performing IDA , is there any solution to attain the amount of energy dissipated by damper on each floor???

I am not aware of any material that does this directly.
If you want to record it directly, you would have to modify the source code to do so.
You can always do this at post processing by integrating the hysteretic energy.

There are damage models that do that. But they are not well documented
