we see 3 types of betaK factors. $betaKinit is obvios, it means that neither betaK nor K matrix update.
but others : in which one does betaK stay constant and K matrix update? $betaK or $betaKcomm ?

Re: rayleight damping
the beta factorS do not change between calls to the rayleigh command. the only thing that changes during the analysis is the K matrix (if nonlinear problem and model in nonlinear range). kinit matrix does not change, kcommit only changes after a successful analysis step, kcurrent is constantly changing within one analysis step.
Re: rayleight damping
Dear Dr. fmk,
By the way, we should only consider beta coefficient for kcuurrent; and for other terms we should input "zero" coefficients, shouldn't we?! But If so, could you tell me why kinit and kcommit are defined in this command?!
