Xbrace

Post by ehsanala »

hi
For modeling the X braces have a common node used in the middle elements?

If so how can to made buckling brace with extra-axial 1/500?

hi
Do you need to model cross brace in the middle is the common nodes or elements must be modeled separately?
If it takes the common node is the primary imperfection modeling approach to how the buckling brace?

i am no expert on modeling of steel structures, but to me it would depend on the actual structure and if there is a connection there or not .. if no, then no common node, if yes a common node as you want the tension member to restrain the compression member.
