Hello,
I have a dynamic analysis problem. I ran this problem with OpenSees ver. 2.2.2 and it converged. However, when I ran exactly the same problem with ver. 2.4.2, it failed to converge. I checked the same convergence problem with a few Examples in this website. Can anyone tell me what causes this difference?
Thank you.
Hyun

Re: Convergence Problem
no. what materials are you using and what examples are you comparing against?
Re: Convergence Problem
Have you tried to run the following example?
"Dynamic Analysis of 2-Story Moment Frame"
It does not give any warning message with ver. 2.3.2 but two warning messages with ver. 2.4.2.
Now the author updated it to solve the convergence problem, so it works with both ver. 2.3.2 and 2.4.2. However, with the pre-updated version, it worked with ver.2.3.2 but ver. 2.4.2. I have no idea that it is just convergence criteria problem or there is any difference in OpenSees ver. 2.3.2 and ver. 2.4.2 for dynamic analysis procedure.

So what was the warning?
