transmitting boundary

Post by sgjsgj »

hello

i compare elastic, viscous and viscousdamper materials to model transmitting boundary. by alpha (power factor) equals 1, elastic and viscousdamper materials give further absorbed energy, but viscous material gives less absorbed energy.

should they be the same by the same property?
what power factor can give more absorbed energy? i reach to power factor between 1.2 to 1.4 for viscous material.
is it correct?
what is the best power factor for viscousdamper material to give maximum absorbed energy?

why when we very increase power factor or damping coefficient, above materials give less absorbed energy and get greater responses like acceleration of soil profile.
