Strain limitation

hello everyone
i want to limit the strain of outer fibersections that if the one of them reach to the emaxlimit=emaxpositive+emaxnegative,then tell me @ in what step of analysis,what command should i use ?

there is nothing in the code now that will send you a notification that a strain has been reached. you will have to put it in the script.

thank u for ur concern
i knew that a new fracture material model was implemented in the OPENSEES framework based on the results
of the NEEShub - Laboratories that developed and written by po-Chien Hsiao from UW seatle.
I have the both .cpp & .h of that material. i created its .dll , but it dosnt work in my laptop ,but works in some lap. i don know why !

because of not workin of that, ive forced to write a tcl program that in each step of cyclic analysis,give me the maximum strain range for the entire time history, where the maximum strain range is the summation of the absolute values of the maximum tensile and the maximum compressive strains. (for example midspan of brace in outer fiber of hss which always occur @ the extreme fiber on COMPRESSION side of plastic hinge.i dont know how

it works on some but not others because it was compiled for a different version of OpenSees. if you get a copy of the correct version for which it was compiled t will work.

ofcurse .i did it but it didnt work for opensees 2.2.2.a

Dear jackmil
I want to use Hsiao's FractureMaterial model, how can I build the .dll file of the .cpp & .h of that material?
Please help me.
