Differing DOF at the end nodes

Post by megiddo »

I there any element that can have differing DOF at the end nodes?

I mean, for example 3DOF node at one end and 6DOF node at the other end.

Do we have an element like that?

no. all elements currently in the code repository ha=ve same number of dof at all nodes. i was working on a quad element that would take 3 and 2 but never got around to finishing it. not hard to do, just have to be careful when setting up the tangent and resisting force.
