hello, everyone:
I didn't use leaning columns to represent the PDelta effect in my model, I just used Geometric Transformation Command "geomTransf ColTransfType PDelta" , and the gravity load was applied to the elements(beams),
I don't know whether it is right to model the P-Δ effects. Is it the only way to model P-Δ effects with leaning columns?
Look forword to your response, thank you.
how to model the P-Δ effects without leaning columns?

Re: how to model the P-Δ effects without leaning columns?
not necessarily, depends on the building. if the total buildings gravity load is in the columns and they have a corot or pdelta transformation, then it is included. people only need the additional leaning column if there are other gravity loads that are not carried directly by the resisting system, as these need to be accounted for.

Comparision Of Opensees And IDARC
can anyone help me to compare drift result of OPENSEES and IDARC of a portal frame, analysis type is dynamic with time history everything in modelling is done but some due to some parameters the results are different
My email id is " punits95@hotmail.com " & " coolpunitrocks@gmail.com " plz plz plz contact me here or at mail i will send u all result and modelling of both OPENSEES and IDARC.....
thank you!!
