Hysteresis loop

Post by Fame »

Hello everyone,
I am studying the behavior of bridge column subjected to ground excitation. The column is modeled with beamwithhinges element. I recorded the base shear and and the displacement at the deck level. When i plot the force displacement curve, it doesn't look like the usually hysteresis loop i saw in many publications.
Do i need to use uniaxialMaterial hysteretic in order to have hysteresis loop for the base shear force - displacement curve?
please help
Thanks
