Dear All,
I've used PlateFiber section command for modeling concrete shear wall. The applied material is also PlateFiber material. In my research, an elastic isotropic
material has been selected and used for the shear wall material. The model is complete and the results are good. I've sent the paper to a journal and the reviewer asked me how this command considers the shear deformations......
Since I've asked someone about this type of modeling and I have no information about the commands details, please help me!!

Re: PlateFiber section for shear wall
the material is basically in a plane stress condition (normal stress is dirn of plate thickness is assumed), i.e. sigma_33 = 0.0. the therory for the SellMITC4 element (the element i resume you used) can be found here:
http://www.simytec.com/docs/Dvorkin_Bathe.pdf
the person who wrote that element has published a number of papers on modeling reinforced concrete shear walls with the element (mind you the papers are to present his concrete material & not the elastic material you used (the 3d stress-strain relationship for the elastic material is well-known and found in any basic text-book in stuctural mechanics )

Dear Vesna!
I want to know if and how the Platefiber section considers shear deformation?
