Obtained the stress-stain curve has no descending branch

Post by wcq19811982 »

In the numerical modelling of 3 dimension space concrete frame, the Concrete02 and Steel02 material model are adopted for concrete and steel bar, respectively. The FBE and fiber section model is used in the numerical model. The obtained base shear-roof displacement relation curve has obvious descending branch, however, the compressive stress- strain relation curves of the concrete from numerical results have no descending branch. I want know what it is to cause the result? Which material parameters need to be adjusted?
Thank you!

Did you look at all fibers of your section?

Another reason for seeing degradation in response can come from geometric nonlinearity. What geometric transformation did you use in your model?

I'm sorry but I do not have time to review codes especially if they are too long. I only review simple codes with less than 5 elements.
