Which one? Sap or Opensees

Post by hemmatimona »

HI...
I have a question about the differences among sap and Opensees...
Can you tell me more about Which one is more capable to analysis ? and What aspects of opensees make it more powerful than SAP?

This is very crucial for me to get more info about that....
Thanks in advance....

if you want to model frame structures and make pushover analysis (or dynamic) I suggest you to use opensees.
It has great uniaxial materials for concrete and you can put fibers in your beams` section ,using distributed plasticity.
If you specify your problem you will get a better answer about the capabilities of opensees .

Thanks friends....
The title of my project is: Assessment of Effective Parameters in steel frame building with shear wall to find optimum seismic design...
For this subject, which software is more capable ? and what aspects persuade you to make this choice?
