connection between brick and beam with zerolength element

Post by gerber »

I try to connect a brick element (ndm 3 ndf 3) with a beam (ndm 3 ndf 6) using zerolength element but there is a problem because the end nodes of zerolength have different dof . Is it possible to connect different type of elements with zerolength element?

Yes, you can do it. Just make sure to define your zeroLenght element within ndm 3 ndf 3 domain and tie the zeroLenght element to the beam using equalDOF command.
