bbarBrick element

Post by Baijanti »

Dear all

How can I apply body forces in bbarBrick elements? In the command of that element there is no parameter for body forces!

element bbarBrick $eleTag $node1 $node2 $node3 $node4 $node5 $node6 $node7 $node8 $matTag

Thank you

I just looked at the source code and corrected the command manual page for that element so that you can define body forces:

Thank you for your attention
Are they ($b1 $b2 $b3) gravity acceleration components?

What do you mean by "gravity acceleration components"?

The body forces input into the some kind of elements should be the components of the gravitational vector ( gravity acceleration components in x, y, and z directions , for example 0 , 0 , -9.81) like BrickUP element , and in some elements the body forces should be the unit weight.
I meant which category of elements include bbarBrick element ?

These are just body forces per unit of volume.
