the nonlinear seimic response of the block masonry structure
To simulate the nonlinear seimic response of the block masonry structure,
what elements and material model should be adopted in the numerical model?
Where I can find relative example?
Can you help me?
Thanks

We do not have an example of the masonry wall. We only have example of a masonry infill.
The elements and materials to model a brick wall depend on your modeling strategy. If you want to be very sophisticated you can try using brick elements. Look at the library of ndMaterials (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... al_Command) and see if any of the materials we have fits your needs.

Re: the nonlinear seimic response of the block masonry struc
Dear vesna,
Can the brick elements and the NDmaterials consider the nonlinear behavior of the masonry house structure well?
I have completed the shaking table tests of a full scale two-storey block masonry house.
I wonder whether the OpenSees can realize the numerical simulation of the masonry house structure subjected to a series of base stimulations.
thanks

I think that the only nDMaterial wich you can use is Drucker-Prager.
I am trying to simulate an inframed concrete shear wall by brick elements and Drucker-Prager but I am not very satisfied...
Of course I don`t want to disappoint you , I just tell you my experience !
Good luck !

Thanks,
Is it recommendable to simulate the block masonry house with shell elements?

I would rather use brick elements than shell elements.
