Hello,
In my OpenSees analysis I want to update the material during the analysis and I trying to figure out how to do so. A simple example would clarify, as follows:
I have a reinforced concrete column subjected to an earthquake pulse load. Let the total duration of the pulse be t. What I intend to do is after a certain time t1 (where t1<t), I want to change the rebar area in the RC column and continue the analysis for the remaining time t-t1. Is it possible to achieve this without losing the previous response history till time t1?
Thanks for taking you time to review and answer this question!

Re: Updating material during analysis
OpenSees sensitivity part of the program allows for changing certain parameters during the analysis. However, it does not apply to all elements and materials. Here you can check on parameters that can be changed: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... y_Analysis.
Here is an example of changing parameters during the analysis: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/community/ ... =2&t=46673
Here you can find a PPT presentation from a developer of sensitivity analysis: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/OpenSees/w ... B5_MHS.pdf
