Lack of Color Function with Version 1.7.4

Post by mebowers »

Alisa,

I have experienced a negative consequence of using the new 1.7.4 opensees with vees. The color function used for seeing displacement gradients does not appear to be working. When the max and min color values are adjusted, however, it seems to take away elements with larger displacements as it is supposed to. Also, It appears that the maximum displacement is also not shown when the displacement function is selected in the dropdown menu.

I am currently using quad elements and was able to see the colors for varying displacements with opensees 1.7.3.

I hope I can see the colors again! It was a useful tool!

Hi Matt,

I am trying to get the same thing to happen, so I can fix it. Is it possible you could send me a script and a list of the things you did to make the bug occur?

I'm always glad to hear about bugs - fixing them just makes the application stronger & I don't always think of everything!

thanks,
alisa

I have updated the manual, it can be found at:

http://www.soe.ucsc.edu/~aneeman/VEESmanual.html

adjusting the color map range solves the problem.

cheers,
