Hi
I would like to ask how I can model the saturation of the damper force after it reaches the force capacity of the damper. As far as I know by using the viscous material when the strain rate increases the stress keeps increasing linearly (if alpha=1) or non-linearly (if alpha is not equal to 1). However, in reality every damper has a maximum force capacity and if the damper force reaches this value then the damper force - velocity diagram will have a plateau in which the velocity keeps increasing but the damper force is constant and equal to the capacity of the damper force.
Does anyone know how can I model this behavior? I think that is essential for modeling realistically the response of a viscous damper device.

I do not have experience with modeling dampers so I can not help you much. You will have to investigate it yourself.
