Multi-phase analysis, Multi-step analysis

Post by mfa »

Hi,
Does anybody know how I can change parameters of an element once a certain displacement limit has reached. In other words:
1) How can I monitor the deformation of an element (say that of a linear beam column element)during the course of dynamic analysis
2) Then is it possible to redefine the elements assemblage or to redefine the parameters of an element for the next time step.

Your help is highly appreciated,
Mohammad

Yes, both 1) and 2) are possible. There are few topics on the message board that discussed how that can be done. If you search the message board you will even find some examples.
