TCL Editor, that is available from the OpenSees web site, is a very basic text editor for OpenSees. It is functional, but it has some problems, some bugs and limited functionality in general, at least in my opinion.
I used it for a while for OpenSees, before I decided to try a more advanced text editor. I decided to use EditPlus (a shareware program) that can be found at www.editplus.com.
In case somebody else would also like to use EditPlus for OpenSees, I have written a syntax file for EditPlus, that can be found at http://www.editplus.com/others.html. This syntax file is used in order for the program to highlight all OpenSees or TCL commands.
Of course, the program can also call the opensees.exe file to run the analysis, so combined with the syntax file it is a very good alternative to TCL Editor for OpenSees files editing.

Re: EditPlus Editor syntax file for OpenSees
I wonder how I can run the opensees directly from the EditPlus? I couldn't find any solution.
