about quad element

hello everyone! i have a question about the quad element.
whether the "quad element" is compatible with 3d model. if not, how can i

add the "quad element" to a 3d model. can you give me an example!

it is for 2d analysis and you can always use brick elements for 3-d elements,
check the manual for different element types

shell element

thank you srisri_iitk, i see what your means, but what about the shell element ? if i can use the shell element to simulate the concrete plane.
