it means what it says .. the program has deermined your zero length element does not have zero length .. it is only a warning, but it is issued in case you have messed up in the script as most people have zero length between the 2 nodes ..

so what is the solution ? how we can model the viscous Damper ?

did you read my post, you ignore the warning message! .. there are other material options, e.g. Maxwell provide for viscous damping as well.

Dear vesna,

You proposed the truss element for modeling a damper.
how can i model the dampers at the ends of a horizontal beam? have truss elements zero length?
