PathSeries error

Opensees 2.3.0 can not open ground motion file and gives the error "WARNING - PathSeries::PathSeries() - could not open file". However the same file is processed correctly by ver. 2.1.0. I am using win 7. What should I do?

I used ReadSMDFile and same directory but there was the same error message. Ver 2.2.1 also gives same error.

I have found the reason. OPENSEES opens recorder files first and later can not open the ground motion file because the maximum number of opened files is 512 for windows.

So what is the solution for that to Windows 7? I tried to remove the recorder file, and then opensees can open ground motion file. But what will I gonna do if I want to keep the recorder? Thanks

make sure you have less than 512 files open at a time

OK, I understand now, because there are too many files are being recorded in the recorder, which makes the recorder a huge file. So when I comment some recorders, opensees can opens the ground motions again.
